What are Airsoft Guns?
 
Airsoft and bb pellet guns are full size replicas of real guns. However, instead of shooting bullets, they shoot plastic pellets. These guns do not have much energy (their energy is measured in joules), so if you are hit with a pellet it is unlikely to cause injury so long as safety rules are observed (see below)

Airsoft BB Guns and UK Law
 
You do not need a licence to own the low power airsoft and bb guns featured on this page. However, you should be aware of the following:

• It is an offence to carry a replica gun in a public place without permission, whether it can fire or not.
• It is an offence for an airgun to be given to a person under 17. However, 14-16 year olds can use them on private land under responsible supervision, as long as they have the landowner's permission and shooting takes place solely inside the land's boundary.
• It is an offence to cause fear or distress to other people by displaying BB Guns. Bear in mind that if the police are called they will assume the gun is real, and you could put yourself in danger. So it is best not to carry or possess them in a public place.

Airsoft Safety

• The eye area should always be protected with either an airsoft mask or safety goggles.
• Remove the magazines when not in use.
• Young people under 18 years of age should only use an airsoft gun under responsible adult supervision.
• All guns should be stored out of the reach of children.
• Do not use in public places.
• Do not use in private places where there is a risk of the pellet leaving the boundary of the land.
